Lewis Hamilton ‘flipped the bird’ at Franco Colapinto after the pair collided on the first lap of the Miami Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton showed his frustration by sticking his middle finger up at Franco Colapinto during the Miami Grand Prix after a contentious on-track battle left Hamilton’s car damaged.
The incident occurred on the first lap at the Miami International Autodrome, with Colapinto resisting Hamilton’s overtaking attempt into Turn 11, resulting in contact between the two drivers.
Despite the setback, Hamilton managed to salvage a sixth-place finish after teammate Charles Leclerc received a time penalty, which promoted Hamilton to seventh initially.
Colapinto, on the other hand, achieved his best F1 result to date by finishing just behind Hamilton, collecting valuable points for Alpine and boosting the team to fifth in the constructors’ championship.
Alpine’s improved performance in Miami signals a positive turn for the team compared to their previous season’s struggles, with Colapinto leading the charge alongside his more experienced teammate, Gasly.
The battle between the drivers and the subsequent outcome added an exciting chapter to the race weekend in Florida, accentuated by the fierce competition and emerging talents on the grid.
